Haad Khom beach is close to the resort village of Chaloklum, just a few minutes north and is a secluded part of the island relative to the other beaches, with the main attractio of Haad Khom is the offshore reefs.

The beach of Haad Khom is just around the corner from the resort village of Chaloklum and is a secluded part of the island realtive to the other beaches. The main attractio of Haad Khom is the offshore reefs that for up here on the western coast lines of Phangan. Well worth a trip out from the villas if you are a snorkel enthusast and mask and flippers and be found for rent in varoius shup houses that line the beach road in Chaloklum. The place gives a feel of being a in a private place as there are no houses or villas here just a few basic huts line the headlands that slope into the bay. The beach is not that great for swimming as the water is shallow and may only be waist deep in certain times of the year.

To get from the villas to Haad Khom, your need a rental car again or a bike(s) for rent, leave the valuables in the bedroom tucked up in the villa safe. Take the road out from the villas turning left on the main road, and follow it through the village, just on the corner where you see a seven eleven store, a couple of houses and a rental video shop stop and turnleft again down a newly paved road. This is then the road that run up the furthest north on Koh Phanganone can drive to and ends st Haad Khom, this road doesnot go to Haad Khuat.

Its probably best if you didnt pack a lunch in the villa, to get some supplies at the village before goingto to the beach. Common snacks, sandwiches, fruit and drinks are found throughout the village. Thai food can also be brought and taken out in poly carts with plastic spoons. Thai food can often be eat cold or semi cold as it is hot here in Thailand.

Chaloklum Bay

The fisherman's village at in Chaloklum bay is only a five minuted drive from Dee Dee Villa Retreat in the north of Koh Phangan. Historically a fishing settlement with one of the oldest piers on the Island the village remains an authentic example of a thai coastal village.

Over resent years the village has grown and now there are over dozen restaurants and bars, theres ATM's, grocery stores, a 7 eleven, chemists and a video rental shop.

The bay is large with a long central pier used by the incoming fishing fleets and dive operators, many big boats and small longtails are keep in this sheltered bay. The village main road runs parallel to the beach with shop houses lining either side, here restaurants, cafes, mini marts and newspaper shops can be founded mixed in with residential houses and fish yards..

Haad Thong Lang Beach

The bay directly below the villas is known as Haad Thong Land, haad in Thai is the word Beach so its really Thong Beach Bay. The secluded little bay is a stones through from the villa pool and is one of the quitest beaches on Koh Phangan. Families will like this beach as there are no sellers vending up and down the beach, in fact most of the time apart from in the surrounding houses there is very few people there.

Koh Phangan is known for is clear warm waters with tropical fish in abundence and Thong beach is no different. The sandy beach gives way to the soft lapping waves and shallow waters. For children on holiday is a great beach as it never get that deep except at the high tide levels. Vacations are all about the beach life and choosing the accommodation at Dee Dee will surely meet the beach requirments.
