Getting around Phangan
The best way to get around Koh Phangan is to make use of a car rental service, which gives you the convenience to explore the island at your leisure. It is also possible to hire motorbikes on Koh Phangan, if you are an experienced rider. PLEASE NOTE: it is law in Thailand to wear a helmet at all times whilst driving a motorbike.
Recommended Boats:
From Samui there are a couple of very good boat companies that Dee Dee Villa Retreat recommends running daily transfers to the Island. From Bangrak in the North of Samui the "Seatran Ferry Service" departs three times daily to Koh Phangan and from Maenam the "Lomparah" runs a similar schedule. For current boat schedules please visit the Seatran website or the Lomprayah website. There is a speed boat service (10 minutes) that runs hourly from the Petcharat pier in Bangrak. (seasonal)
